With more power, a lighter chassis and stiffer suspension, the next-generation Si is ready to rule.

More of What You Need

Under the hood for 2012 is a 2.4-liter, 16-valve, DOHC i-VTEC® engine that produces 201 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque. That's a 22 percent increase in torque over the previous generation of Si engines.

Less of What You Don't

Weight-saving technologies and improved aerodynamics result in a new Si that's leaner and meaner. And because it's a Civic, it still gets an impressive 22 city/31 highway mpg[1].

Built to Handle

The smooth-shifting 6-speed manual transmission is perfectly paired with the Si's helical limited-slip differential for the utmost in handling and control.

Get Rev Happy

The Si's instrument panel is home to a new, improved Sequential rev-limit indicator. Instead of a single shift light, a series of six sequential lights indicate rising engine speed. And when you get into the right rev range, a bright i-VTEC® light is your reward.

Every Civic, including Si, features the same full array of safety systems. All standard.

Active Systems: Control

To help keep you on course and away from danger, Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®)[2] helps sense oversteer or understeer, and then adjusts brake pressure at each wheel and/or reduces engine power to help restore driver control.

Standard 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes (ABS), with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), help you maintain control during hard braking. Properly inflated tires are crucial for safe operation, so the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)[3] alerts the driver when a tire's pressure reaches a significantly low level.

Passive Systems: Protection

The Civic has been engineered to help protect you and your passengers when a frontal collision just cannot be avoided. The Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute frontal crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle.

Standard front, front side and side curtain airbags help reduce the likelihood of injuries in a collision.

Top Safety

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the 2012 Civic Sedan a "2011 Top Safety Pick," based on more stringent standards implemented in 2010. The Civic Sedan received top ratings in each category including frontal offset, side impact, and rear impact crash safety tests and the new roof-strength test. The Civic Sedan has been named an IIHS Top Safety Pick since 2008.

Honda's Safety Philosophy

Honda is committed to providing safety for everyone—that means crash protection not only for our own drivers and passengers, but also for the occupants of other vehicles, and injury mitigation for pedestrians. We are dedicated to identifying and implementing advanced designs and features that help enhance the safety of vehicles on the road. Learn more.

[2] VSA is not a substitute for safe driving. It cannot correct the vehicle's course in every situation or compensate for reckless driving. Control of the vehicle always remains with the driver.

[3] For optimal tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge. Do not rely solely on the monitor system. Please see your Honda dealer for details.

Even in a performance-oriented sedan like the Si, you can still feel environmentally responsible.

The Civic Si is a descendant of the 1975 Civic CVCC, which was the first vehicle to pass the emissions requirement of the Clean Air Act of 1970 without using a catalytic converter.

The Civic has come a long way since then, and now features technological achievements that are just as impressive.

The Next-Generation Civic Si

Today's Civic Si features a pulse-quickening 2.4-liter aluminum-alloy i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine that provides exceptional fuel economy (22 city/31 hwy/25 combined mpg)[4].

i-Mid System

When we say the 2012 Civic is "next-generation," we aren't kidding.

Personalized Performance

The Si has a special version of the intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID). It sits front and center in the Civic's instrument panel, and can be set to show the info you need most, like current fuel economy and audio system information.

Power You Can Feel, and See

Use the i-MID to display fuel consumption information, audio status, or even your own personalized wallpaper image. And in the Civic Si, the i-MID also includes a unique power monitor mode, which shows current engine output as a percentage of peak horsepower.

A Wireless Wonder

Not only does the i-MID display your Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink®[8] status so you can make hands-free calls, the system is also ready for Bluetooth® Audio. Pair your compatible phone or player, and stream your music right through the Si sound system. Just one more of the i-MID's many magical abilities.
