Performance

With our countless technological innovations and legendary, race-inspired engines, Honda has always roared ahead of the curve.

185-hp, 2.4-Liter, 16-Valve, DOHC i-VTEC® 4-Cylinder Engine

Meet our most powerful and efficient CR-V engine yet. The 2.4-liter, dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine has 185 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque (SAE net), a 23 city/31 highway mpg rating[1], and a ULEV-2 CARB emissions rating[2].

Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System

Available on all CR-V trim levels, the remarkable Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System offers excellent drivetrain efficiency, decreased noise and vibration, and it only operates in AWD when necessary. When the system senses insufficient traction in the front wheels, it electronically transfers power to the rear wheels. Drivers don't have to do a thing. Plus, the electronic activation reacts quicker than other vehicles' hydraulic systems and requires virtually no maintenance.

MacPherson Strut Front Suspension

Bumps and turns are no match for the CR-V's well-tuned suspension. In fact, you'll notice very little body roll or tire noise around sharp curves.

Hill Start Assist

Stopped on a steep hill? No worries. When the driver's foot moves from the brake pedal to the accelerator, hill start assist will maintain brake-line pressure, giving the driver time to push the accelerator and resume motion.

Grade Logic Control

The CR-V's automatic transmission assesses driving conditions and automatically sets appropriate shift points for the car. Our goal? Keep drivers focused on driving instead of gear-hunting during ascents and descents.

Drive-by-Wire Throttle System

Fast-responding electronics take the place of a traditional throttle cable and produce greater response, and drivability with minimum adjustment and maintenance.

Safety

Honda is committed to providing safety for everyone—that means crash protection not only for our own drivers and passengers, but also for other vehicle occupants, and injury mitigation for pedestrians. We are dedicated to identifying and implementing advanced designs and features that help enhance the safety of vehicles on the road.

3-Point Seat Belts at All Seating Positions and Front-Seat Automatic Tensioning Systems

All front and rear seating positions have 3-point seat belts that ride across the lap and chest to help restrain occupants during sudden stops or impact. The front seats feature an automatic tensioning system.

Dual-Stage, Multiple-Threshold Front Airbags (SRS)

The CR-V is equipped with dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags (SRS). One or both of these airbags will be deployed only in the event of a sufficient frontal impact. If deployed, these airbags are capable of being inflated at different rates depending on crash severity, seat-belt usage and/or other factors. Frontal airbags are designed to supplement the seatbelts to help reduce the likelihood of head and upper body injuries in frontal crashes.

Front Side Airbags with Passenger-Side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS)

In the event of a moderate-to-severe side impact, the side airbag inflates to help protect the driver's or front passenger's upper body. The Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger's seatback to detect the height and seating position of the occupant. If a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag, sensors deactivate it.

Side Curtain Airbags with Rollover Sensor

To help reduce the likelihood of head and neck injuries for outboard occupants in side collisions, all CR-V models feature standard side curtain airbags. In the event of a sufficient side impact, this system will activate to help provide protection for both front and rear outboard passengers. The side curtain airbags are also connected to a rollover sensor to help provide protection in a rollover.

Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) Body Structure

The CR-V's Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure is a Honda-exclusive body design that's built for occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions. The ACE design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This enhanced frontal crash energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a crash.

Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®) with Motion-Adaptive EPS

Vehicle Stability Assist[3] can brake individual wheels and/or reduce engine power in the event of an oversteer or understeer condition and help the driver regain the intended path. The system also features a traction control function to help prevent wheelspin during acceleration.

Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD)

The anti-lock braking system (ABS) uses a special modulator to pulse the brakes to help prevent wheel lockup. This helps the driver retain steering control when braking hard. The Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) system balances the braking forces at each wheel according to how the car is dynamically loaded.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Driving on underinflated tires can be unsafe, and it's often difficult for drivers to tell if their tires are low on air. This system electronically monitors the pressure in all four tires and alerts the driver when pressure in any tire becomes significantly low[4].

Daytime Running Lights (DRL)

Daytime Running Lights (DRL) up front help to ensure that CR-V is always visible to other drivers on the road. It’s a simple but important part of staying safe.

Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH)

The rear seats feature the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) mounting system for use with compatible child seats.

[3] VSA is not a substitute for safe driving. It cannot correct the vehicle's course in every situation or compensate for reckless driving. Control of the vehicle always remains with the driver.

[4] For optimal tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge. Do not rely solely on the monitor system. Please see your Honda dealer for details.

Environment

For three decades, Honda has played a leading role in meeting environmental challenges. In fact, Honda was the first manufacturer to offer Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV)-rated emission technology[5] on a production vehicle.

Eco Assist

Eco Assist helps car and driver work together as never before to improve fuel efficiency[6]. First, when you push the green ECON button, your CR-V will automatically configure its engine and other energy-consuming systems to operate more efficiently. Eco Assist also features a feedback system that tells you how efficiently you're driving, while you're driving. Instrument-panel lighting changes from white (inefficient) to green (efficient), helping you get more from a gallon of gas[6].

MPG Details

The 2.4-liter i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine makes the CR-V more efficient than ever. It has a 23 city/31 highway mpg rating[6], and a ULEV-2 CARB emissions rating[5].

ULEV-2 CARB Emissions Rating

The 2.4-liter 4-cylinder CR-V has excellent fuel efficiency[6] and a ULEV-2 CARB emissions rating[5], which means that the CR-V is an Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle.
