Performance

With our countless technological innovations and legendary, race-inspired engines, Honda has always roared ahead of the curve.

192-hp, 2.4-Liter, 16-Valve, DOHC i-VTEC® 4-Cylinder Engine

The Crosstour EX and EX-L models feature a powerful 192-hp 4-cylinder engine. The DOHC i-VTEC® system enhances the effect of VTEC® on Crosstour's 4-cylinder engine by adding Variable Timing Control™, or VTC™.

278-hp, 3.5-liter, 24-valve, SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 Engine

The Crosstour's i-VTEC® V-6 system is designed to deliver outstanding performance at any engine speed. And with Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®), you get thrilling acceleration with maximum fuel efficiency[1].

6-Speed Automatic Transmission

Now you can kick things into a sixth gear in the Crosstour. On V-6 models, the 6-speed automatic transmission uses the engine's broad torque curve for brisk acceleration, optimal fuel economy[1] and smooth shifting.

Double Wishbone Front Suspension

The Crosstour's double wishbone front suspension uses both lower and upper control links. This allows Honda engineers the flexibility to tune the suspension for predictable cornering feel and emergency maneuvering, to ensure a smooth and stable ride. In addition, the front shocks utilize a rebound spring within the shock tube that enhances the inside front tire's road contact when cornering.

Drive-by-Wire Throttle System

In the Crosstour, fast-responding electronics take the place of a traditional throttle cable and produce greater response and driveability with minimum adjustment and maintenance.

Grade Logic Control

Honda's Grade Logic Control System featured on the Crosstour differs from other computer-controlled shift programming because it can detect driving situations and then set appropriate shift points for the car. The feature helps drivers avoid gear hunting on climbs and descents, and it downshifts for added engine braking when needed.

Independent Multi-Link Rear Suspension

The independent multi-link rear suspension provides high lateral rigidity for more spirited handling.

Maintenance Minder™ System

The Maintenance Minder™ tracks services on a mileage basis such as the miles between changes to the air filter, spark plugs, coolant and tire rotation. In addition, engine sensors detect driving conditions to indicate when an oil change is recommended and send that information to the Maintenance Minder.

Real Time 4WD™

The Real Time 4WD™ system engages when slippage is detected and you need to send power to where there is tire grip. This is a hydraulically actuated system that operates only when front-wheel slippage occurs, helping you through terrain that can be tricky to maneuver.

Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®)

The Crosstour's V-6 engine features the latest generation of Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®) technology. This system can activate and deactivate the engine's cylinders as needed to meet the demands of both acceleration and fuel economy[1]. When maximum torque is required, all six cylinders are firing. During steady cruising speeds, VCM allows Crosstour to run on just three cylinders.

Safety

Honda is committed to providing safety for everyone—that means crash protection not only for our own drivers and passengers, but also for the occupants of other vehicles, and injury mitigation for pedestrians. We are dedicated to identifying and implementing advanced designs and features that help enhance the safety of vehicles on the road.

Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) Body Structure

The Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure is a Honda-exclusive body design that utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute frontal crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This helps reduce the force transferred to the cabin and evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles involved.

Anti-Locking Braking System (ABS)

All Crosstour models feature 4-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock brakes (ABS). ABS pulses the brakes to help prevent wheel lockup and help the driver retain steering control during hard braking. The system also features Brake Assist, which helps the vehicle come to a stop sooner during emergency braking, and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), which distributes brake force among the four wheels based on how much load each wheel is bearing.

Driver's and Front Passenger's Active Head Restraints

In a sufficient rear-end impact, the active head restraints move forward and up, helping reduce the likelihood of neck injury.

Dual-Stage, Multiple-Threshold Front Airbags (SRS)

The Crosstour is equipped with dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags (SRS). These airbags are capable of being inflated at different rates depending on crash severity, seat-belt usage and/or other factors. Frontal airbags are designed to supplement the seat belts to help reduce the likelihood of head and upper body injuries in frontal crashes.

Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

A small camera mounted at the top of the front windshield can detect the presence of vehicles in front of you. When the FCW system (EX-L models) calculates that you are at risk of a collision, it immediately activates audio signals and instrument-panel alerts[2].

Front Side Airbags with Passenger-Side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS)

In the event of a moderate-to-severe side impact, the side airbag inflates to help protect the driver's or front passenger's upper body. The Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger's seatback to detect the height and seating position of the occupant. If a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag, sensors deactivate it.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

On EX-L models, a small camera behind the rearview mirror tracks lane markings on the road, and it can detect when the driver is making an un-indicated lane departure[3]. Visual alerts will light up on the driver's instrument panel and the system also can provide an audible warning.

Outboard Rear Seat Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH)

The outboard rear seats feature the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) mounting system for use with compatible child seats.

Side Curtain Airbags with Rollover Sensor

In addition to the protection side curtain airbags offer front and outboard rear-seat occupants in the event of a sufficient side impact, they are also fitted with a sensor to help provide protection in a rollover. Most side curtain airbags in this class are designed to provide side-impact protection, but rarely do they also provide protection in the event of a rollover.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)

Drivers often unintentionally drive with underinflated tires, and that impairs tire responsiveness and reduces fuel economy. This system monitors the pressure in all four tires, and alerts the driver when the air pressure in any tire becomes significantly low[4].

Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control

Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®)[5] is standard on all Crosstour models. During an understeer or oversteer condition, it can brake individual wheels and/or reduce engine power to help restore your intended course.

[2] FCW cannot detect all objects ahead and may not detect a given object; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. FCW does not include a braking function. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.

[3] LDW only alerts drivers when lane drift is detected without a turn signal in use. LDW may not detect all lane markings or lane departures; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed and road condition. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.

[4] For optimal tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge. Do not rely solely on the monitor system. Please see your Honda dealer for details.

[5] VSA is not a substitute for safe driving. It cannot correct the vehicle's course in every situation or compensate for reckless driving. Control of the vehicle always remains with the driver.
