117-hp, 1.5-Liter, 16-Valve SOHC i-VTEC® Engine

The 1.5-liter, 16-valve i-VTEC® engine gives the Fit a generous amount of horsepower in relation to its size and impressive fuel efficiency[1]. One-hundred six-pound-feet of torque at a low 4800 rpm means drivers can enjoy quick acceleration, creating a comfortable driving experience.

Drive-by-Wire Throttle System

The Drive-by-Wire throttle system helps enhance the driving character of the Fit. With smart electronics connecting the throttle pedal to the throttle butterfly valve in the intake manifold, the engine response can be optimized to suit the driving conditions and to better match the driver's expectations.

Steering Wheel-Mounted Paddle Shifters

All automatic transmission-equipped Fit Sport models feature sports car-inspired paddle shifters. Mounted to the steering wheel, the paddles provide more control by allowing the driver to shift the car manually.

Front 3-Point Seat Belts with Automatic Tensioning System

Front and rear 3-point seat belts with front seat automatic tensioning system ride across the lap and chest to help restrain occupants during sudden stops or impact.

Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA®) with Traction Control

This sophisticated safety system aids the driver in retaining control of the vehicle if wheel slippage is detected during oversteer or understeer conditions. When the driver is cornering or must make a sudden maneuver and traction loss is detected, the system will engage to help restore the driver's intended course[2].

Driver's and Front Passenger's Active Head Restraints

In a sufficient rear-end impact, the active head restraints for the driver and front passenger move forward and up in a fraction of a second, helping reduce the likelihood of neck injury.

Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) Body Structure

The Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure is a Honda-exclusive body design that enhances occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions. The ACE design utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This enhanced frontal crash energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a crash.

Front Side Airbags with Passenger-Side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS)

In the event of a moderate-to-severe side impact, the side airbag inflates to help protect the driver's or front passenger's upper body. Plus the Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS) utilizes sensors in the front passenger's seatback to detect the height and seating position of the occupant. If a child or small-statured adult is leaning into the deployment path of the side airbag, sensors deactivate it.

Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD)

Fit's anti-lock braking system (ABS) uses a special modulator to pulse the brakes to help prevent wheel lockup. This helps the driver retain steering control during hard braking. The Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) system balances the braking forces at each wheel according to how the car is dynamically loaded.

Outboard Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH)

The outboard rear seats feature the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren) mounting system for use with compatible child seats.

Side Curtain Airbags

To help reduce the likelihood of head and neck injuries for outboard occupants in side collisions, all Fit models feature standard side curtain airbags. The side curtain airbag module is positioned along the side of the headliner. In the event of a sufficient side impact, this system will activate to help provide protection for both front and rear outboard passengers.

Dual-Stage, Multiple-Threshold Front Airbags (SRS)

The vehicle is equipped with dual-stage, multiple-threshold front airbags (SRS). One or both of these airbags will be deployed only in the event of a sufficient frontal impact. If deployed, these airbags are capable of being inflated at different rates, depending on crash severity, seat-belt usage and/or other factors. Frontal airbags are designed to supplement the seat belts to help reduce the likelihood of head and upper body injuries in frontal crashes.

[2] VSA is not a substitute for safe driving. It cannot correct the vehicle's course in every situation or compensate for reckless driving. Control of the vehicle always remains with the driver.
